Epically failing as a Senior

So school has started. Everything seems great, I like all of my teachers, I got in touch with some old friends, made some new ones, and reaffirmed existing ones. For the first time, even, I actually enjoy going to several of my classes.

The problem is, I've been doing horribly in two particular classes, AP Physics and Calc AB AP. We've already had a couple of tests in each class, and I nearly failed both times, which brings my grade to a humiliating level. I can honestly say I don't know where I went wrong; I studied, did the necessary homework, and still performed terribly. For the first time in all four years of high school, I feel pretty helpless and distraught, especially since college apps have been thrown in the mix. It's especially frustrating when your classmates are earning solid A's when you're stuck nearly 3-4 grades lower.

Yes, I've considered dropping a level (I'm currently taking 4 AP's), but the grade would carry over with me and I would have to work just as hard in those classes to bring it up to AT LEAST a B ... Was/is anyone in the same situation? How would you go about solving the problem? I've already concluded working my ass off, but I still feel like getting off to a bad start will really drag me down .

Hmm. I'd recommend just not having a defeatist attitude! Don't think of things like "omg even if I get a 100 on this I'll only have a 79.6 in the class" -- just do as well as you can on everything and your grade will make its way up. :]

yeah i was here my junior year.

this means that, no matter how bright you are, and how well you've done in ever other class before this, you need to get outside help! go in after school and ask the teacher for help. ask your friends who understand it. etc.

go talk to your teachers and seek extra help.
i was struggling in AP US last year and I went to talk to my teacher. he suggested a study group that met in the morning before school. so i started going to that and it worked really well for me. Also he would be there, so if i wanted to I could pretty much have 2 AP US history classes any given day. it really helped cause I would learn the material and then by class time i would already be analyzing things about it and making connection.
so ya...talk with your teachers and I am SURE they will help you. that is their job
