I've noticed that there is no Episcopal High thread, which is kind of a bummer since it's my first choice.
So any information you can provide about EHS, your opinions, if you liked/disliked the campus, whether or not you applied or got in or turned down an acceptance and why. Basically anything to do with Episcopal.
(If a thread has already been made for EHS, I apologize haha)

Hi I’m applying for Episcopal High School too! (Freshman) I had my campus visit recently, and liked it a lot. I was able to sit in on chapel and have lunch with the students. Over all, it was great. The only problem is that I’m not Episcopal, so going to Chapel was a bit awkward since I didn’t agree with the things the people said or knew the prayers like everyone else. Also, the people have to eat their meals in fifteen minutes, which I found really rushed. I suppose I could get used to it though, and the food was pretty good. The people seemed mixed. I could tell there where cliques, but lots of the people seemed pleasant and friendly. I could see myself having a group of friends that I could relate to. The facilities are amazing, and the proximity to Washington, DC is great! I love how they go on trips every Wednesday afternoon to use all of the city’s resources. The academics were seemed rigorous, but manageable. It does have a strong southern influence, but that would expose me to people I wouldn’t meet otherwise. Overall, I liked Episcopal very much.

Note that I’m just applying there and this is just a (biased) opinion of someone’s three hour visit:)

That’s great to hear! I’m applying for 10th, but how exciting would it be if we both got in?
EHS is my top choice because of how close it is (about 3 hours away) compared to other schools, the fact that it’s Episcopalian (I’m not, but I’m very religious so the fact that they have chapel is a definite plus), the fact that it’s so close to a major city… the list could go on. I really hope the AD can tell just how excited I am to apply/go to EHS.
15 minute meals? That’s crazy!

Excellent school. Our son goes to EHS rival Woodberry Forest (all boys). I’m assuming bs & beatles are both girls?

Yup, I’m a girl.
I was considering an all girls school but decided against it.

EHS, along with several other fine BS’s, accepted my son in 2009. EHS made our short list of schools that my son might attend for a host of reasons, including 100% boarders, long and strong school history, the D.C. location, stout humanities department offering courses in my son’s selected language (German), and quaint Southern flavor and charm. I also approved, although my son didn’t, the religious affiliation of EHS. In the end, although my son took a Revisit Day at EHS, he elected to attend a diiferent BS. Still, he and I continue to think highly of EHS.
