did anyone else get this email from college board?
We have been informed by Epsilon, the vendor that sends email to you on our behalf, that your e-mail address may have been exposed by unauthorized entry into their system.

Epsilon has assured us that the only information that may have been obtained was your first and last name and e-mail address. REST ASSURED THAT THIS VENDOR DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO OTHER MORE SENSITIVE INFORMATION SUCH AS SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER OR CREDIT CARD DATA.

Please note, it is possible you may receive spam e-mail messages as a result. We want to urge you to be cautious when opening links or attachments from unknown third parties.

In keeping with standard security practices, the College Board will never ask you to provide or confirm any information, including credit card numbers, unless you are on a secure College Board site.

Just think, with AP’s, PSAT’s, and SAT’s etc. we all spend about 1,000 dollars with this outfit, and to thank us, they sell our information to scammers (National Association of High School Scholars anyone?) and compromise the rest of our information. Good Show.
Lucky for me I did NOT give them my SS#.!
Not acceptable.

I received the e-mail too. Now I know why I’ve been barraged with all this spam lately. I never had any spam for years on my e-mail until around 5-6 months ago when I signed up for the January SAT.

Episilon is the world’s largest provider of permission based emails. They got breached. So technically speaking ur email wasnt hacked but they do have ur email address, and other information that the college board sold to epsilon such as your first and last names. So yea you might get spam. College Board is not the only one affected. Kroger, walgreens, etc. who use epsilon are also affected. @Olipond I do agree that they shouldn’t be selling the emails and you know that you do have the option during the test to tell them not to give your email out. But giving your email out will also allow colleges to contact you.

I got emails from college board and several other places that use this system. Interesting that today I had unauthorized use of my credit card. I wonder if the two are related?
