Equivalent course at a different community college

Hey everyone,

I'm applying for Fall 2013 admission. Dream school is UCSB. Here's my situation: I took "Calculus for Business and Social Sciences" at a community college in Los Angeles and failed it with an F. I then moved to Costa Mesa where I took "Business Calculus" at Coastline Community College and received an A (go figure. Professor was top-notch!). Anyway, how do the UCs calculate the GPA if two courses were taken and have the same content? Is the bad grade replaced by the passing grade in the GPA calculation? I'm aware I have to report both grades.

Here's another thing: Business Calc at the first school was 5 units, while the one I passed is 4 units.

Help please!

Call UCSB and ask them directly. No one can give you a more accurate answer.

***BUMP

I’ve tried contacting UCSB, but I get no reply. :frowning:

Has anyone else been in this situation?

Go to your cc counselor and ask whether or not the two classes articulate. If they do, the ucs will replace the f with the new grade in your gpa, but they will still see the f.
