Well I posted a thread before about college. It talked about me transferring from a lower school to a higher Liberal Arts College. Someone suggested to me before that I contact the school to see what classes at my current college are equal in caliber to the college I want to transfer to. Now the question is, how should I go about contacting the college?

Some colleges I would consider attending are too far away to just ask a simple question. How do I make it proper and formal enough for them to take me seriously? Should I call them directly? Would an E-mail suffice? How do I make sure I contact the right person and obtain the correct information?

Schools may or may not be able to tell you for sure which of your classes will transfer. They might, but they might not because the process is usually done outside of Admissions. See the Transfer Admissions 101 thread for some more information.

I would suggest you call the Admissions Office. Ask if they have Transfer Admissions specialists, and if so, speak to one of them. If not, ask to speak to any admissions rep/counselor.

Tell them you would like to be as sure as possible that you will select courses which will transfer and ask for their guidance. They may give you general information on the types of courses which will transfer, or they may ask you to email specific information on courses you plan to take.
