Do any ERC res. halls have any access to a kitchen besides the dining hall?

yes, there's a common area/study lounge on the first floor of every hall. The kitchen has a stove/oven, cabinets and a sink, but i'm pretty sure that my ra provided the microwave. Pots, pans, cups, etc you have to bring yourself.

are there any coed dorms or are they all girls?

coed..but separated by stairwell i heard.

the buildings are co-ed, but each suite is single sex. you're going to be living with girls, but boys will be below/across/above you.

Ah thanks! I just changed my housing preference to apartments via the phone...are they more expensive?

freshmen can live in apartments??? when i filled out my housing form i thought you could only choose b/w res. hall and rate saver??

does anyone have any info on the apartments? what is the diff. besides $$$?

Some are school owned some are not.

By policy the school has to have enough room to house all the freshmen in on campus housing for 2-years, so thats why everyone is only given the two options.

My D goes to ERC - shes a 2nd year. They did the same thing the past 2 years - they ask all the freshman to choose dorms or apartments for some dumb reason even though Freshman only get to do the dorms, and 2nd years get only apartments. Dorms have 8 double rooms, one single and a common room. APartments get 4 singles and a kitchen and common room. They guarantee 2 years housing and the extra freshman they dont have room for either get housed in another college or they put them in Rate Savers, which is just a double with an extra bunk. Over the year people drop out and more space becomes available and you can get your Rate Saver converted back to a double if you are lucky.

dorms are for freshmen, the apartments are for sophomores. Freshmen are only allowed in the apts if they have some kind of special need or arrangement, not just 'because you want to'. that's why they give freshmen the 'option'. Chances are extremely low that you will be given a spot in the apartments as an incoming freshman because they have to accomodate all of the sophomores and not all of them will be able to live in erc simply because there just isn't enough room. You can keep checking at reslife during the year because spots do open up occasionally, but that usually happens in winter or spring, not in the fall.
