ERC for aerospace engineering

Hi everyone! I just got admit into Roosevelt college for aerospace engineering! Actually this college is not my top choice. My top choice is Warren.

ERC general education has 19 courses with very limited choice. It requires student to take 5 sequence courses in MMW and those courses are all related to history and world war 1,2. Student also have to take 4 courses in language, 2 courses in Fine arts and 3 courses in Regional Specialization. How does it fit an engineering major student?

Any UCSD engineering student who went through it before please give me some advice?

Expect to take 5 years to graduate. Aerospace’s program already assumes it’ll take 5, then add all your extra GEs. It’s going to be tough.

Depend and vary.
How many AP credits do you have?
Check your four year plan.

It is not that bad, I’m doing it. You want to graduate in five years. You’ll be less stressed out, you’ll have a better time in college, and you’ll do better in your classes. It is nearly impossible to stick to the 4-year plan for aerospace. You don’t get into one class (which happens to a lot of students) or you fail one class you are pretty much automatically put on the 5-year track, since most MAE classes are only offered once a year. ERC is not that bad either, and I had to take 6 quarters of mmw. You can take a lot of the classes pass/no pass and they’re no-brainer gpa boosters. also, depending on ap classes or sat II scores you can get out of a lot of classes. i didn’t have to take a single language class and i got out of one regional spec.
