err.. is this okay for common app essays?

I was reading through my common app essay for topic 1, where it says EVALUATE a significant experience etc.
My essay is pretty much a story, and at the very end in a short paragraph is the actual, self-evaluation of it. The whole story is packed with credentials and it's pretty self-explanatory what its impact on me was.
Would this be considered having answered the essay question?

As long as there’s some self-reflection in there, you’re fine.

:)

I’m just a senior in HS, but that many credentials and only a paragraph of analysis sounds a bit lacking to me.

To be honest, colleges only care about whether you write a “good” essay, or one that shows thought at a higher level.

If you wrote a “great” essay, then you’re good to go :).

I’m just an adult who has read a lot of college and scholarship essays (but who doesn’t have time to read them for CC posters), and I agree with spiralcloud. The prompt indicates the self evaluation, not the story, should be the most important part of your essay.

ahh… well everyone who read it said it was fantastic…but I guess it is true that the “evaluation” part is more important than the actual story for that topic so in terms of answering the question well, I did a bad job. I should’ve marked topic 6 instead…
I already sent my essay like that to my top choice… I hope it doesn’t have too much of a bad effect…
