err o chem review sesh

i missed it...helpful much. damn it..

karen posted the review session material under resources. i would imagine that you would reap the same benefits from that.

they’re not in depth enough. just basic stuff like always.

The problems she went over were very easy and don’t think you missed much info. Hope the final will have similar questions, but I assume they will be much more difficult questions.

^
yep most likely

did frechet say if he was going to emphasize the last third of the lectures?

This is everything that Frechet said about the final on the last lecture:

  • Emphasis on new material
  • Also some material from MT1 and MT2
  • Bring calculator
  • The structure of the final:
    1. Multiple choice (no penalty)
    2. Nomenclature/Drawing
    3. Reactions (products/reagent fill in)
    4. Synthesis/Mechanism

Anyone else know a bit more detail?

i don’t have anything to add to wut dill_scout said, but i do know the Final is supposedly “easier” than Midterm 2. i heard the average for the Final is always higher than the average for the Midterm.

You know…I was going over MT2 earlier when I realized that a lot of the questions were exact examples he did in lecture. Maybe the final will be like that? In any case, there are still a lot of really random specific things to memorize.

soooo many reactions. i just know i’m going to forget which catalysts/random reagents go with which reaction.

is it just me, or is the practice final really really hard?

well for 3B, our review session is during game 7 between the Rockets and the Lakers (the Rockets are going down). Doesn’t the 3A head GSI put up the review slides on bSpace like the 3B head GSI?

I thought the practice exam was intermediate in terms of difficulty, but there were a couple of tricky ones. I’m just scared for another Chem 1A fiasco where the final is crazy and confusing in comparison to the midterms.

Well, I heard that the final score is usually higher than the midterm 2 scores, which is a good thing, I guess. Luckily there will be partial credit, unlike the bio 1b exam…

**** bio1b lol

i’m coming to the conclusion that i’m screwed.

i’m gonna comfort myself knowing that if there’s still time when I finish, I’m just gonna stare at karen. hell yes.

I need to do well on this exam.

yea i thought last year’s exam were very difficult. Last years midterm compared to this year’s. at least for the first 2 midterms. Maybe it’s cause he’s teaching different material?

what did he make the average for the second midterm?

wasn’t it slightly below 50%?

Was it ~43%?
Well, you can’t get lower than that, don’t you think?
AND multiple choice won’t be penalized. Hurray for guessing! I’m sure that might boost people up a bit.
