I submitted all of my applications with my counselor's name and e-mail spelled incorrectly. The last name is 'Phillips' and I spelled it 'Philips'. I'm pretty sure that the counselor information is pretty crucial to the application. I've already sent e-mails to all the colleges so that they can fix it. Will it kill my admissions chances?

Also, my counselor is really slow with sending the Secondary School Report. Some deadlines have already passed. Will colleges accept them late? I mean, I couldn't just walk to her house and demand that she send the SSR, could I?

It’s not going to hurt your chances.

And don’t worry too much about a late SSR. As long as the college receives your application, they can wait a little for the SSR/recs etc. Although it can’t hurt for you to politely ask her how the SSR’s going.

And now…can you answer my question? It’s quick:
On the letter of rec envelopes, do you put your address, or the teacher’s?

I’m not sure, since I’ve been sending all of my recs online, but I’d say put your school’s address and your teacher’s name on the envelope. If you’ve waived your FERPA rights, it makes sense that the letter should avoid getting into your hands (except for mailing it). Of course, I can’t be sure of it, but I think I remember a couple people saying similar things on this site.
