When I submitted my applications, I didn't realize that I had made an error in the SAT score I recorded. I'd put a 780 instead of a 770 on my writing score. I'm still sending in my official SAT score reports to the colleges, but should notify the colleges themselves about it? Will this result in an immediate rejection?

Yeah I honestly would do so right away because even if you didn’t notify them they wouldn’t know whether it was a mistake or not. Also the common app (if that’s what you submitted through) states the consequences of providing false info on your application. And yes, rejection is a possibility.

I’ve already sent an email to all of the schools, but should I call them as well? Because there’s also the holiday break build up of emails, so it would take them a while to get to it.

Yes call them! I had emailed one of my schools during this break concerning a mistake that I had made on my app and it took them like a week to respond! :'c

DONT WORRY!
It’s a difference of 10 points, it will not matter that much! You are sending your official scores, those are the ones they will look at. Shoot them a quick email so they know you were not trying to lie or anything. Calling is completely unnecessary. Don’t panic for such a small mistake, they will understand it was just a typo.
