I filed everything as was required by all my schools within the deadlines, but now it seems as though the accountant may have made a slight error in completing the tax return. I received a notice from a college notifying me of this just yesterday. I will be getting this resolved ASAP, but am just wondering if this mistake is going to affect my eligibility for aid. The college just told me that they can't review the fin aid stuff until they have accurate info. Does that mean that all the aid money is going to be gone by the time they review my file? I mean it's not my fault or my parent's - it's the accountant's. And human beings, of course, do make mistakes.

It shouldn't hurt your chances. If your forms were in on time, that's what the school cares about. I would say your parents are pretty fortunate that the financial aid officer found the tax form error!
