<p>Has anyone received this error when uploading their essays on the common app? D has received it when trying to upload a .doc file both on her personal statement and her supplement. I opened a ticket with the common app, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.</p>

<p>Check if it's Vista. </p>
<p>If it is, right click on your browser icon(firefox, ie) and click run as administrator. That will give you the settings to upload without hassel. </p>
<p>Also, check if your document is the right form. You may need to save as 1997 to 2003 vrsn. for compatibility issues...</p>

<p>I opened a ticket with the common app people and they told me that they logged into our account and were able to upload files no problem . They told me to try rebooting, which we did and we still have the same problem. They were not very helpful, but maybe if others open up a ticket they will get the hint that its not just one person!!</p>

<p>Same here. I am going to complain again to CommonApp customer support. I recommend that you do as well so that they know that this is affecting a lot of people.s</p>
<p>Yes, report it on the Common Applicants site and tell them that they are currently having a systemic problem and it is not a single user problem. It appears to be affecting other areas like print previews of supplements and certain other functions.</p>
<p>same here...emailed common app and they said they were able to log in and upload a document without any problem.</p>

i just logged out and back in and uploaded it, no problems</p>
<p>weird, anyway here's what I just did. I converted the MS 2003 .doc into a PDF and uploaded it. No problems at all. Maybe it was the format or maybe they just fixed the system. Either way, give .pdf a try if you are having issues.</p>

<p>Common App Tech Support will actually upload the files for you. Just open a ticket, tell them your id, attach the file and tell them which section of the app you want it loaded. You can then verify that they added it correctly. They have been very responsive.</p>

<p>I just uploaded my supplement about a few seconds ago. It did not work on IE so I tried Mozilla and exited everything (I just had one tab open for Common App) and it uploaded. Try doing that and it might work.</p>
<p>it's not working for me either. judging by the posts this has been going on for a good 12 hours. i am on a mac, however. could this be the reason?</p>

<p>I hope they can upload it in them or at least fix the problem so we can upload them ourselves.</p>
