Does the committee that reviews applications for the Ervin, Danforth, and Rodriguez Scholars Programs also have access to our WashU admissions applications (Common App + writing supplement)? I was just wondering because one of my extracurriculars would have been the perfect topic for my Rodriguez essay, but I already wrote about it in the WashU “intellectual curiosity” supplement. Thanks so much!
I emailed about this - the admissions officer told me they focus the large majority of their attention to the scholarship essays and not the common app.
Do you know when they let students know if they are finalists?
Finalists are usually notified late March before admission decisions are sent out . So if you are notified that you’re a finalist, you are in at WashU.
I saw that people were notified 3rd week of February last year… am I wrong?
You are notified in late February/early March that you are have been admitted to the school and are being considered for one or more of the scholarships. You will be invited to attend a 3-day campus event for finalists that is held at the end of March. Your travel expenses will be covered.
If memory serves, my D was notified about her finalist status via a phone call – not email.
