I am applying for the Ervin Scholars Program and had a quick question. One of the prompts included writing about which high school or community activities do you take the greatest pride in. I noticed that this question is almost identical to the question on the Common Application form. Does anyone know if it is okay to submit the same essay for the Ervin application as the WashU Common Application. Thank you for your help.

I am not sure, I had the same question. I was considering applying for the scholarship, but quickly realized that I really could not qualify, but I was going to send the Common Application statement. They are basically the same. In the scholarship brochure, it says that you can send the same essays as long as they are appropriate for the prompt

Thanks alicia6988. I will just go ahead and send the same essay.

To let you know, I wrote two completely different essays--and got the scholarship.

bunni72188- i doubt i will get the scholarship, but i was wondering what your stats were

is the ervin for african americans?

its not for african americans only anymore, that changed last year. but i also wrote about two different events and got the scholarship. i actually did the essay the night before it was due because i forgot about it and therefore it sucked but i don't think it bears a lot of weight.

caroline--dont say that, you never know! good luck!
