Epsilon Sigma Alpha-I haven't seen where anyone has ever won one of these? Has anyone been successful with this one? Thanks.

I sent in my apps for this last week but I don’t know anyone who has been awarded any.

Did you guys type or hand write your application?

I typed my applications out. I know they received my applications because my check was cash. I didn’t like paying the $15 but I figured if it got me $1000+ it would be worth it. Has anyone heard anythign yet?

I am the chairman of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation and just found this forum. We post a list of the winners every year. The applications are in the last phase of judging and the list of winners will be posted within a week or two. The list from last year can be found at http://www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org/episilonsigmaalpha/media/ESA_Foundation/Scholarship/2011_MEET_OUR_FUTURE_WEB-LIST_5.pdf

ESA Scholarship winners are out. Another no. I guess it doesn’t pay to have a 3.9 gpa, community service, and 2 years working in a vet’s office.

Jennex2: I’m sorry that you did not win one of our scholarships. We received 9000 applications for the 216 which were awarded. We are proud to say that our applicants are the cream of the crop and it is encouraging to see the caliber of students who will soon be our future leaders. We personally fund the scholarships ourselves and continue to encourage other members to endow even more scholarships so that we might be able to award more each year. You can imagine how difficult it is for our judges ( we have over 300 judges who volunteer their time to review all of these applications ). Their one complaint is that they can’t award a scholarship to every student “like you” !

People do get awarded the ESA scholarships!!! They are a great program! Don’t give up!! My son applied last year and we received no notification of winning and then in December he got an email from ESA. Evidently he was a runner up and the winner must not have completed the requirements for the scholarship and as runner up ESA was notifying him he was getting the scholarship!
National and statewide scholarships are hard to win. There are a lot, lot of talented students out there and you are competing with the best of the best!
