I am enrolled to have Joseph Esdin and Xia Yang for LS 2 next quarter. I have read Esdin's reviews and he seems to be great.

I cannot find anything on Yang though. Has anyone had her before? Any tips?

Yang might be a new professor, so it could be a hit or miss (i.e. in terms of their teaching and the difficulty of the exams). I really enjoyed having Esdin for LS2, my advice would be to study ahead of time (a little bit each day) because you definitely won’t want to try cramming all the content. Focus on his slides (I never bought the book)

Esdin is good!

I took this course in spring 2013 with Esdin/Yang

Yea Esdin is pretty good!

As for Yang… God no no no no no! I would not take a class with yang even if the co professor was James Franco. This lady needs to get her ■■■■ straight. She is the most disorganized professor that I have ever seen. This lady destroyed my GPA! Her tests are worded very vaguely. They will screw you over. Her lectures are hard to understand because of her thick accent. It doesn’t even matter if esdin is teaching one half of the course because yang’s half with screw you over so hard that the highest grade you can get out of her half of the course, on her midterm, is a B+. You would have to be flawless on Esdin’s half of the course in order to make it out with at least an A-. In the end most of the class got B’s and B+ mostly because of Yang’s half of the course. I got and A with Pires in LS 1 and I got a B+ in LS 2 with Esdin/Yang.

Thanks for the advice, guys

Hopefully Yang has read OID evals and is teaching the easier first half of the course.
