I was just reading the paper, and I found out that the ESPN College Gameday might come to Yale this saturday for the Yale-Harvard football game. That would be totally awesome. Just wanted to share the cool news. :p

Sorry, but per the ESPN web page, they will be in East Lansing for Penn State v. Michigan State. Why would they go there, when Michigan v. Ohio State is only 45 miles away in Ann Arbor?

On the other hand, why am I going to be in New Haven watching "The Game" in a stadium where the only other scores they announce are other Ivy League games? I will be the one sitting on the yellow U of M seat pads, going crazy wondering what is the score of The Game, the real one.

No need to get testy. I was just excited that's all.

Never meant to be "testy," just giving out the correct information and bemoaning the fact the the Wolverines will not be the host of College Game Day.

Not only will updates on the Michigan-Ohio State game be given in New Haven, but updates on the Harvard-Yale clash will be both announced and posted on the electronic scoreboard in Ann Arbor. Trust me!

Having attended countless Michigan-Ohio State games in Ann Arbor, I can attest that they do announce the score of the Harvard-Yale game. Normally, they do not announce nor post Ivy League scores, as they did not at the other four Michigan home games I attended this year.

As to announcing other scores at the Yale Bowl, while attending this year's Yale-Dartmouth game (in the pouring rain, I might add), the only other scores announced were those of other Ivy League games. When I questioned a nearby Yale grad, he told me that was SOP. I do hope they announce the other scores this weekend, particularly Michigan-Ohio State and Penn State-Michigan State.

Byerly, is the Michigan-Ohio State game scheduled for local broadcast television? I might bring a Casio mini-tv to The Game if it is.

Just to set the record straight, there were no updates on the Michigan/Ohio State game given during the Harvard/Yale game last Saturday. I was calling back to Michigan every 1/2 hour on my cell phone to get the score.

As a matter of fact, there were no updates of any games given after the beginning of the 2nd quarter.

1..I did attend the Minnesota game in Ann Arbor in October, and can attest that updates of the Harvard game WERE given, both over the public address system and on the scoreboard. If anybody thinks I'm lying, I have a PICTURE of the damn scoreboard!

I agree that Yale does an extremely poor job of updating scores elsewhere - inexcusable in this day when computer updates are easily obtainable. If this is "SOP", then the "SOP" should be changed.

At Harvard Stadium, updates are provided not only on Ivy and local teams, but on all major games in progress around the country.

"You are incorrect on both counts, "UMDad" ...

Not only will updates on the Michigan-Ohio State game be given in New Haven, but updates on the Harvard-Yale clash will be both announced and posted on the electronic scoreboard in Ann Arbor. Trust me!"

Why should I?

My appologies; apparently Yale Bowl falls short of Harvard Stadium in more ways than one.

Perhaps when the old rock pile if finally renovated, they'll run a few phone lines to the press box, or even install wireless!
