Did anyone come up with a list of "go-to" public figures/literary pieces/events in history that can be applied to many of the SAT Essay topics?

If yes, was this strategy effective once you actually took the test? And, as always, examples are appreciated ;)

hahaa, every essay part, I make a list of every single book I could think of. Depending on the prompt, I'll choose one or two of the books from the list I make :). If none of them relate to the prompt, well... I make it fit the prompt! :D

My list is usually something like this:

Lord of the Flies
Fahrenheit 451
Julius Caesar
East of Eden
Their Eyes were Watching God
Romeo And Juliet
The Crucible
Candide
The Grapes of Wrath
The Scarlet Letter

there are probably some other books, but that list is usually enough for any given prompt.

I also get examples from historic events/people like

world war I
world war II
the great depression
Benjamin franklin (fits a lot of the prompts because hes open minded, etc, and you can say a lot of things about him (: )

When all else fails for me, I make up a story :D
