Essay editing

Hey guys, I’m applying to college this fall for admission in 2017. I’ve been writing my essays with several counselors over several months, and would like someone to review my common app essay; the more editors I have the better, no? Is anyone willing to, or know of a reliable service that, looks over admission essays?

many thanks,
David

Where are you looking to apply? I also am going into senior year and need someone to look at my QuestBridge essays.

Let me know. Thanks

Bumping, because I’d like to know too.

This question is for all posters. Who do you consider best people to help a student with his/her essays?

  1. Private College Consultants
  2. Guidance Counselors
  3. English teachers
  4. Creative writing teachers
  5. Journalism teachers
  6. Parents/older siblings
    7.???

@Mr.Me

Have you been to the CollegeEssayMentor.com workshop? The workshop is affordable at $60, but the consultation is not at $500. Is the workshop just an advertisement for the consultation or is it helpful by itself?

Anyone know of other more affordable options?

English teacher for grammar, friends/family for checking that the writing sounds like you, and current college students or school guidance counselor a for content advice. Private college counselors vary in price and helpfulness. I have friends who thought it was worth it and others who didn’t and they paid between $1000-$5000

I think English teachers, parents and friends are the best help one can get for writing a college essay cos these people know about you and your personality. And they can remind you about your qualities and struggles which you might tend to overlook. If you can get help of creative writers that would be great but it is not essential. Plus there are millions of free online resources that you can use for help to write college essays.
