Hi everybody,
The decisive day is drawing close. There are a few essay questions I still need to take care of. I would appreciate if you could provide me with some examples concerning the 'Arts' category.

Is the main value of arts to teach us about the world around us?

Is it absolutely necessary for people to study the creative arts?

Are photographs straightforward representations of real life, or are they artistic creations reflecting the photographer's point of view?

If only there were 2-3 examples that work for all these prompts...

Thank you.

For all of them, I think a personal example could be poignant (and also easy to fabricate).

For the first one you could also talk about the Realism movement that developed largely as the result of the Civil War. The art movement changed to depict things as they were–and reality during the war was often grotesque. This allowed people to gain true insights of what went on in the war and helped people learn about the world around them.

For the second two, the only things I can think of are personal examples. I’m sure concrete outside examples exist, but none are coming to mind at the moment. Where did you find these questions? I’ve never seen anything quite so specific in my review.

Even if you only have one example, I’ve seen essays on the CollegeBoard website that only have one that get 12s.

Yeah I have a similar question (bump)
