I have a really hard time with the essay. Every single time i do the essay i always get a 6/12. My main problem is coming up with examples to answer the questions. what are good examples to impress the reader?

Good examples are ones you know sufficiently. I can tell you that Fahrenheit 451 can often be used as a solid example, but if you have not analyzed the book enough or perhaps have not read the book yourself, it’s all for naught. People will often utilize different examples, and that’s only natural; different people carry various personal interests. What are your interests? If you write about something that you know and you write well, you’ll impress the readers.

i will check that book out. thanks.

I find myself using lots of stuff I learned from APUSH and Euro. History examples are imo the most solid ones to come up with because they actually happened in the past.

That said, I often mix up fact with fiction in my examples (read: always) to shape the example just the way I want it to. Oh, so I just know the name of artist X and that he was sort of important somewhere? No problem, make up a year in which he painted this super awesome painting and how he had to work super hard to do stuff. oh and he also promoted the growth of the American/European ______ [insert “Romantic” “Realist” “Impressionist”] artistic movement. Avoid making up literary people because your graders will likely be more knowledgeable about them. gg

Oh and I have a question too. If your grader blatantly knows you made up a date/quote, as long as its fairly reasonable, will it affect your score much?
