I normally use either one historical or one literary example, and develop it into a 5 paragraph essay. The SAT graders seem to be flexible with the structure of the body paragraphs. On the November test, I used Hesse's Siddhartha as my example, and didn't really divide my essay into distinctive paragraphs. Instead, I just started a new paragraph whenever I felt like I had an adequate length for the previous paragraph. Even with this, I was able to score a 12 on the essay portion.</p>
