I know the common app has a prompt to explain failure and would this be good at explaining a bad semester I had in High School? It was the spring of sophomore year and It was the only time I made a C in my whole high school / middle school life and with the C I made another C AND on top of that I mad a D. All in that one semester. Due to some personal problems and somewhat just being lazy resulted in this… Now I’m a motivated junior and I feel SOOO bad for this huge mistake. I constantly worry that I won’t get into my dream college (State school with 53% acceptence rate) (btw ive been somewhat of a slacker during middle school and highschool until now)…
My w GPA went from 4.2 to 3.75…
my uw GPA went from around 3.6 to a 3.1… all from that one semester
Studying for my ACTs hoping i’m going to get a 30+ on it.
I’ve changed since then. I’m motivated and driven now I currently have ALL As and plan to take a rigorous course load next year.
So yeah, how Can I improve my chances and explain this on my common app essay? Would this be a good thing to talk about? Also could you guys give me any advice on how to execute my essay for this?
Thanks.
