Essay Focus

I chose the "where do you feel most content?" prompt. I began the essay by writing about a typical day in my volunteering experience (I volunteer at a school for children with mental impairments and communications disabilities). I then talked about how my interest in neuroscience relates to this. I talked about a summer course I took with CTY (the Center for Talented Youth), doctor shadowing, and even an EMT course I am taking. I didn't list it like a resume, though. I explained how the EMT course will help me pursue a medical profession, wherein I can study neuroscience and help the children. When I received feedback from others, I was told that I should focus more on the volunteering rather than talking about neuroscience because the rest of the application will show my interest in neuroscience.
