Virginia Tech is committed to providing the benefits of an educational environment rich in individual backgrounds, experiences, and characteristics. What contributions might you as a student bring to help create a diverse educational community at Virginia Tech?
My answer:

The only things I have to offer Virginia tech is myself and the experiences who have made me who I am. High school has been nothing but a learning experience to me where I have finally become a more mature person I have always wanted to be. I come from a family of which has no members who have attended a graduation ceremony. I am the first of many to come, as I make my mark my graduation day I make a vow to do the same at Virginia Tech as well. I have a goal in mind, becoming a doctor is my ultimate dream, hard work and determination have been molded on to me throughout my high school career. I was lost at one point and college was nothing but a joke but I as I learned more about myself I realized there is a whole world in front of me filled with people who can't really help themselves. I could have been one of those children in my ancestral land Nicaragua. For some reason on god's green earth I am not and I am here in the United States. I feel as a human being and as a fellow Nicaraguan, that I should do anything in my power to aid anyone in need.

I want to also answer this essay but I am unsure...
If there is something you think would be beneficial for the Admissions Committee to know as we review your academic history, please take this opportunity to explain.
I had a hard time in freshman year and I want to explain that.
I also don't want to make it seem like I'm making excuses or anything.
But yeah. help! :)
