Hello,

I usually browse around in the Cornell forum (a dream of mine) but am realistic--applying to the University of Kansas (my home state). I have completed the basic application, but am also applying to the honors program. The essay is a topic I wrote for in the original scholarship application (they mentioned that creativity was a characteristic they look at).

The prompt is the exact same for the honors program, except they don't mention creativity and all that jazz. I didn't follow a 'proper' essay format, and I was wondering if someone would take a look and tell me if it is a good or bad idea to submit the essay I wrote.

Do college prefer a 'standard' essay or is something a bit differnet a better idea?

The prompt is:
"Select one of the following: 1) literature and the arts, 2) politics and business, 3) science and technology.
Discuss one specific aspect of its importance (including benefits and problems) in today's global society,
and describe how it has impacted your generation."

If you would care to take a look and tell me what you think, volunteer and I'll PM ya'!

Thanks,
Derek
