sorry for being anal.

since you answered my question, ill attemp to answer yours.

i understand that the title is optional, unless you feel that it would strengthen your essay, dont put one. and there's no specific fonts or anything, i just did 12 times new roman, double space so it'll be easier to read. the general rule of thumb is around one page single spaced or 500 words.

we have a lot in common... youre also applying to ucberkeley right?
weird. but i guess not, because both schools are pretty awesome at engineering.
Good Luck! no matter what happens, it will all be submitted and out of our control in just a few days..

title? -> You can have one if you want, I usually just print a cover page (A sheet of paper that has the title, name of college, Name and HS, stapled onto the essay)

if so, in word count?

--> Up to exactly 530. The title, I wouldn't count. Plus, I printed and sent my essay so they can't electronically check...

double/single spacing?

--> I double spaced. More white space, the better on the eyes.

specific font?
-> Nothing fancy. Just the standard the Writing Processor has (Times, Tahoma, Verdana, etc.)

certain size?
-> 10/12 as long as it's big enough to read without killing the eyes.

margins?
Regular 1", or whatever the standard is on your word processor.

530 words for the supplemental?

if im submitting online, should i still have a cover page?

The requirement is 500, but they usually let you slide with an extra 30 words, almost one or two sentences extra.
When you submit online, you don't give them a cover page, the essay will be separated to the right people.

I'm a Trebuchet MS kind of girl.

yea, rule of thumb for these things is 500 +/- 30 words (about two sentences)
