Essay Formatting

This issue has been addressed before, but I would like to be sure of which advice is best. Does anyone agree with these observations?

Spacing
[ul]
[li]Double: Unofficially preferred[/li][li]Single: Is officially fine too[/li][li]In Between: Is rarer, leave enough room to write in[/li][/ul]

Font
[ul]
[li]Basic (Calibri, Cambria, Arial, etc.): Preferred for simplicity[/li][li]Times New Roman: Is familiar with adcoms[/li][li]Other (Script, Serif, Book Typset): Distracts from writing[/li][/ul]

Font Size
[ul]
[li]12 point: Preferred and most common[/li][li]11 point: Officially fine as well, as long as the font type is not small[/li][li]10 point: May be too small and tiring to read[/li][/ul]

Title
[ul]
[li]Yes: If it is clever, vital, or very applicable[/li][li]No: It is not required, or necessarily preferred[/li][/ul]

Drop Cap
[ul]
[]Yes: It has been appreciated on occasion
[]No: It is distracting and peculiar
[/ul]

Margins
[ul]
[li]Normal: Yes, this is the usual route[/li][li]Unique: Only if your essay is unique[/li][/ul]

Word Count
[ul]
[li]250-350: May be too short[/li][li]350-450: Is fine and not unusual[/li][li]450-500: May be too long, but also may be fully developed[/li][/ul]

If the essay looks good to you, then it should look good to adcoms. Ask other people if they think the formatting looks clean and professional. Do not stress more about details than content. :)
