I just put in an application of Rutgers, but when I went to the review page, my essay had all of its tabs deleted, so each paragraph began on the far right. You can still tell where I end an begin new paragraphs, but it bothers me, and I'm not sure if admissions people will find it annoying as well. Is there a way to fix this?

If you have already submitted (meaning electronically signed) your application, then it’s done and you can’t change it. If not, you can (and should) still work on the formatting to make it more easily readable. Try first copying it into a text reader (like Notepad), fixing any problems, and then pasting the essay back into your application from there.

Paragraph indents will not format in the Common App. This is a known issue and the admissions folks will not fault you for it.

I didn’t send the app in yet, but this isn’t part of the common app. Rutgers has their own application. I’ll try the copy pasting idea though

Ah, I see. If the problem persists, ask for help from Rutgers admissions
