Essay= freaking out

Ok, so for my Vassar supplement essay I wrote something I was really proud of. I was excited about turning it in.

HOWEVER. Today, I went on the Common App site and clicked on the "supplement" section, and noticed that they only allot you 750 CHARACTERS to answer the question. That's basically four sentences.

On the other hand, if you download the pdf supplement on Vassar's website, they have no character minimum and the only thing they say is "Please attach a separate sheet if needed."

My essay is 3,000-some characters. It's a little more than a page. I want to submit it the way it is.

Is there a possibility the online supplement is wrong? Why bother even writing an essay if you only have 750 characters (not words...characters..that includes spaces)?

Anyone else run into the same problem? Answers???

If your supplement essay is something you're genuinely proud of, send it as it is. They wouldn't give applicants they download in PDF form option if they had something against it. Besides: if it's sincere and well thought out, I doubt they'll mind an extra few characters.

I'm also applying this year (unless I get into my ED school prays!), and I'm also using the PDF option. My essay is ~2400 characters, but other than some basic editing, I doubt I'll change it very much.
