Essay help for common app transfer

I am a sophmore at Michigan State and trying to get admitted to UMich for the winter semester (january 2014). the essay for the common app is giving me a lot of trouble. in fact, essays in general give me a lot of trouble. I can't put down in words why i want to transfer. everytime i approach the question i can't even figure out how to start the essay nor can i avoid sounding like i hate MSU. I cant seem to do this right, i sound whiny and wavering and my reasons could be considered shoddy in certain light. i also dont think i will get in because of my gpa. but at michigan state i have no motivation, and i dont know how to say that out loud, i dunno, i'm really stuck right now.

i wanna transfer for a lot of reasons but i dont feel comfortable discussing them publicly on cc. so pm me, please. but if you dont want to, then any advice on how to really get started on my essay would help. hell, even if i just had someone to talk to about it.

Having no motivation isn’t something you want to advertise. There is no reason to think that transferring schools will give you motivation. If you were not motivated to perform better so that you could get a transfer, what is going to do it? That route is doomed.

Try making a list of the reasons before you think about essay form. There must be some academic reasons and some goals that you have the UM will help fulfull better, yes?
