Has anyone gone through with the whole "make up personal experienced and/or history" approach for the essay? I waste time trying to find appropriate factual examples, and therefore have to rush through the rest of the section.

So, has anyone gone balls out and used only made up examples ... and do well? I'm fine with my Math and Critical Reading scores, it's just Writing that's bothering me (640, 43 + 7).

um i used ALL personal stories for my essay on the SAT, i made one up, and 2 were true...but quite honestly i couldve made all of them up and still wouldve got the same essay score that i got, which was a 10.

meh i made up something totally gibberish and i still got what i probably wouldve got if i had used real examples (8) . also i know a guy who's an advocate of making up stuff and he got a 12 more then once on the sat essay.

Fictitious examples are the best, and they can easily get you a 12. I just started serious (in the last 6 months) writing and made up a good mexico visit to save the poor and i received a 10.

Well I think it is a lot easier and quicker to write fictionally. Colleges generally don't read them unless you request for your essay to be read, and what is so bad about a little deception?

um, Prep classes such as Kaplan tell u its OK to make up stories, u can probably write an essay saying how George Bush invented the light bulb and still get a good score as long as ur answering the question, and i guess thats whats MOST important.
