essay ideas?

AHHH! I'm having such a hard time coming up with an idea for this essay!!! What is everyone writing about for this???

Sharing intellectual interests is an important aspect of university life. Describe an idea or experience that you find intellectually exciting, and explain why. (~1600 character limit)

this is sort of an open ended question. you can write about anything- interesting research you may have come across, your love of debate or even poetry. in the end the idea itself is not important; how the idea relates to you as a person is what makes the essay special.

ahaha... i wrote about 8 essays for Brown ED and I realized today that I can use most of them for Stanford...

I wrote about my passion for computational biology, taking into account my strong interest in molecular bio and experience in computer programming.

I found that question pretty easy...think about your favorite subject in school and write about that field, or think about all the books you have lying around your room and try to see if they have anything in common

The question I am having trouble with is the roommate/experience one. Help!

omg i cant think of anything for the roommate one. What would I tell my roommate that id also tell an admissions officer?

Well what would you tell a roommate? Maybe start with that... Try to quickly explain a bit about who you are as a person to a future roommate and you'll probably have an awesome essay for that prompt.

yeah but it has to be about a specific experience that reveals something about me. I dont know if ive ever done anything that really showed my inner character

Lol, that's the thing, everything I do reveals some part of me...but it's hard to pick something to write an essay about to get admitted to some college

Just write what your favorite food, color, car, movie, and sports teams are, and you'll be good to go!

I had the hardest time with coming up with ideas for short essays 2 and 3.. in the end I wrote about things that were completely unacademic, for the most part. Just think about what you like to do (#2) and how you would describe yourself (#3) and go from there.
