This basically asks 'why uchicago', but gives no recommended length. Am I supposed to write a 100,200,300,500, or a 1000+ words? Can any admitted students share how much they wrote?

Hi there! I got in EA with a 500-word essay, but just in general they’re looking for 2-3 paragraphs. Good luck!

From UChicago’s FAQ:

"Is there a word limit or suggested word limit to your essay responses?

We require that your short-answer essays are no longer than 500 words. While we won’t as a rule stop reading after 500 words, we cannot promise that an overly wordy essay will hold our attention for as long as you’d hoped it would. Please be kind to your poor admissions counselor, who reads 1,000+ applications per admissions season, and stick to our suggested limits."
