So my essay for the common app is 600 words long instead of 500, and the essay for the supplement is 600ish instead of "about 300".

I know people who submitted even longer essays and they got in. Should I cut them? I really dont want to because the essence would be lost, but uhmm 600 instead of 300 i think is a lot more. what do you think??

I think the longer essay is just fine, but the other may be a little long. However, if "the essence would be lost" if you cut it down, DON'T!! They really don't count words. However, if there's anyway that you can get it down to, say, close to 500 words, I think that would be beneficial.

^^I agree. Cut out wordiness, redundancies, etc. A good rule of thumb is stay within 80% and 120% of the recommended length (you're good on the first one, a little long on the second one).

However, no I was thinking of cutting it till 280ish words with no ending at all. and then writing in the end "The second part of the essay will be submitted upon admission to Princeton University"
