Hey Guys! Well I finished my long photo essay one, but I was wondering if its alright to have it one page and a half. It is less than 4800 characters with spaces, though, so it should be alright but the website says it should be no more than one page. Should I cut it to less than a page, or is it alright?

If you submit on line, you are limited to the caracter count. If you are doing paper app, you have to fit the essay in the space provided, but you can play with font size and spacing.

Less than 4800 characters? Is that a character limit? For now I'm just going by the one page guideline.

The general rule is to keep it to about 500 words. I think the website will allow 800-900 words or something crazy like that for the long essay, but I'd stick closer to 500. I would cut out at least 15% of what you wrote in what you think is your final draft. That was the best way for me to really improve the quality of my essays.

To RCMAN, yes its less than 4800 characters with spaces. to everyone else, thanks for your hints =). i don't think i am going to mess with the font-size though. what kind of guidelines do you guys usually follow in editing your essays? just curious. Thanks again for all of your help.

Oh, good, 4800 characters is fine. I've been writing to keep my essay under one page in length, single spaced, and that is well below the character limit with spaces.
