Am I going to die?

Is it more than a page? Try to get it down to a page so it looks better.
If you can't, don't worry, 355 is fine. An adimissions counselor told us that no one has been denied because of an essay.

Toastmaster, Michigan does not say maximum 250 words, it says "around" 250 words. 300 or 350 words should be ok as long as it is not too wordy. If all the details in your essay are relevant and assuming you weren't wordy, you'll be fine.

Take it down as much as possible without sacrificing content and you will be fine. If you have already done that leave it as is.

mighiganfan911, do you mean that the essay is never a determining factor, or do you mean nobody has been denied because of how long their essay was? It it's the former, I would be very happy.

What the lady said was that the essay could only help your chances, not hurt you. Also, no one has been denied because of an (long) essay. So, are you happy then? =)

Yes because I found some mistakes (not huge) in my essays; what would make me even happier is if they only looked at SAT and GPA
