Essay on Supplement?

So when it lists possible essay topics, is Harvard really saying "If and only if you have something to say about the following topics, then write one. Otherwise, don't bother" I ask because I wrote an excellent essay contrasting myself with Gregory House (the TV character). Trust me, the essay is far better on paper than in idea, but it really doesn't connect to any of the possible essay topics. Should I send it? I used it for my Yale supplemental essay.

Definitely! The essay doesn’t have to follow one of the given topics at all, and I think most applicants do submit an additional supplement essay.
