can anyone answer?

I thought the online common app was pretty bad in what it had to offer, so I'm just using the paper one, sent by snail mail. If you have Acrobat, you can change the fields to give you more room to write.

read the directions. The essay is not suppose to be indented and only double space between paragraphs. The common app sets it up so that it follows the way the directions say it should be. hope this helps.

then why is everyone concerned about single space or double space? I've seen numerous threads about that. Everything is single spaced and bunched together!

Common app even says you can import stuff from Notepad. Anyone know how to do that?

To get around the indents, I just put a space between each paragraph:

"This is my college essay.

This is my next paragraph.

Admit me, please."

My D had that same problem. She emailed the tech support for the Common App, and they said all of the colleges know the spacing and indentation is an issue, so they ignore it. She submitted all of her applications on the Common App, with good results, so you will be fine
