I have a question about one of the essay components on the common app for transfers. In the education section, there is prompt that states:

If you are not currently enrolled in college full-time, please describe in detailed chronological
order your activities since last enrolled in school full-time.

I took a year off from school in order to really figure out where I wanted to go/what I wanted to do and filled my time with work and great internships relevant to my field. I just want to know how I should approach this essay. Is this a time for all that creativity, attention grabbing stuff that is usually recommended for application essays or is this more of a cut and dry, give us a descriptive list/account of your time off? I can't tell!

The online version shows exactly what I quoted in my original post. Should I just approach it the way the downloaded version states it? I can’t decide!!

I did both. I made sure to include all the details, etc. but I also tried to let my personality shine through. I wasn’t sure if straight details were wanted or a more creative essay either. I figured if they wanted one or the other they would have said so.

My opinion: you can go either way just make sure you include the info they want.
