Is it alright to mention my name in a supplement essay? Or do adcoms want it to be anonymous or something?

I don’t think there’s any expectation of anonymity. If your name somehow worked itself into an essay don’t worry about.

Um, they are going to know it’s your essay since it will be attached to your supplement. Don’t worry about whether it contains your name. Just write a good essay and move on.

OK haha I just got sort of paranoid because in some contests and stuff they have very strict rules for anonymity. Thanks!

That’s because contests don’t want to be biased by knowing who you are, whereas the entire college application process is based on who you are. You should be good.
[don’t worry, though, I wondered the same thing myself for a while. ]

I asked this same question a while back–not sure what I was thinking, but of course the admissions officials are going to know your name when reviewing your application, so perfectly fine to have your name appear in your essay.
