I am writing emory’s supplement essay right now but I am not sure if I can talk about emory in this prompt. The prompt is “Please describe your ideal college campus/academic environment and what you hope to gain from it.” I am going to talk about how small schools and closer relationship with professors help me to become successful. I want to say something about how Emory perfectly satisfies this condition. But I am not sure if I can do this since it only asked what’s my ideal campus/academic environment, not how emory is a good fit for me.

IMHO, it’s a good idea to mention Emory in the essay so long as it doesn’t deviate from the answer the question is looking for. Besides, letting the said college know what you’re looking for and how they fit your idea of an “ideal campus” is a plus!
Yes, it is perfectly fine to mention the school’s name in the supplement. Just be certain that the school you mention matches the supplement!
