Should the thesis of the SAT essay be in the first sentence of the introduction or the last sentence? On sparknotes it says first sentence, but in English class we always put it as the last sentence. Which is better?

Also, is it always necessary to have three body paragraphs to get a 6? My friend got an 11 on his essay with just 2 body paragraphs.

last sentence of intro or 1st sentence of body.
its easier to first introduce your examples, and basically give the reader your opinion without actually stating it.. so just hint it first.

thats how i do it lol

In April, my friend wrote a very rigid essay following the intro-3 body paragraph-conclusion format, and he earned a 10 on his essay.

In May, he decided not to follow the 3 body paragraph format at all and followed a riskier style in which he wrote his essay in a more linear and flowing style rather than chunking all this info into 3 groups.

He got a 12.
