I just read the thread about the essays (the official post from the Admissions officer) and it said that you are at a disadvantage if you do not do the JHU essays. I did the Common App essay and on the supplement I also did the second essay (about intended major?? I don't remember) but not the essay about the money in the pocket. The problem is that I already sent in my application! So, my question is, is it too late now? Or, is it possible for me to send in the essay via regular mail and it would be added to my file? Thanks so much for your help!

I think you should read the thread again. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=221180

No where do I state that you are at a disadvantage if you do not do the JHU essays. I state many times that we prefer applicants using the Common Application to submit the two JHU essays but it is not required. It is a recommendation, it is a preference, it is not a requirement.

If you want to send in JHU essay #1 you may send it in even tough you have already submitted your application. Just mail it to the Admissions Office and make sure it includes your first name, birth date, and high school. It will be included with your original file.
