for all the supplementary essays, are they double spaced?

especially for the page 217 of you biography question...it is clear that it should be ONE PAGE ONLY, so do we double space that page or single space (that would be around 500 words i believe)

They don't mean for you to literally write page 217 of 300 pages, as in an experience that occurs just over 2/3rds of the way through your life. They just want to hear how you see yourself. My essay was about an experience I already had that spanned multiple years. Don't worry too much about the specifics of that prompt, just try to understand why they're asking, and how to show them who you are.

I applied online, so the text for the question 5 essay was automatically transferred to a PDF that could fit about 800 words. Mine was about 600. If they're giving you an opportunity to write more and further express yourself, why constrain yourself? But don't add for the sake of a longer essay. Make sure it's worth it.

As for the 300 page question (and this came from an admissions officer), you can interpret it either way: the autobiography could cover your life until now, or your entire life so you can speculate into the future. It is purposefully vague.

um the 217 page essay gets everyone. I remember when my brother applied to UPenn. All the kids were busy figuring out if it was 300 page up to now or 300 page entire life.... The point of the essay is how u can describe your own image in your mind. So it doesnt matter which way you look at it.

that's the beauty of the autobiography essay. it's open to interpretation. do what you want (you in the future or from the past), but just show your true self. and it will all be ok! :)

single space is good. there's more to love!
