<p>So the JHU supplement asks about why you chose the major you chose. </p>

<p>Are you guys writing more about your interests, or are you writing more about the actual JHU program? For example if I put biology, should I spend more time talking about how I developed a passion for biology, or should I spend more time talking about the specifics of the JHU Biology department in general?</p>

<p>I'd try mixing them if you can - ie saying I like aspect A of biology because of this reason, and love that Hopkins has done research involving it in so and so expermiment... and etc.</p>
