What are the essays we need to write for MIT? I tried looking for them in the website, but I couldn't find them. Sorry to be such a pain.

Essay A: Tell us about an experience which, at the time, really felt like “the end of the world”— but had it not happened, you would not be who you are today. Describe the process through which you discovered value in the negative.

Essay B: Describe the world you come from, for example your family, clubs, school, community, city, or town. How has that world shaped your dreams and aspirations?

Pick either Essay A or Essay B and write 500 words on it.

and there's also another 100-word essay question which asks "Tell us something you do simply for the pleasure of it."

just wondering...this must be for next year's application right...and if so i would verify that the essays do not change (i know that they do at other schools from year to year)

MIT has had the same 2 long essays for at least 3 or 4 years, as far as I'm aware of. They probably won't change all that much, but seriously it is MARCH. Even if you're a junior you have like SEVEN MONTHS until the EA app is due. Go have some fun!

k4r3n2 that is the point i was trying to make (completely agree with you)...mit clearly wants people to enjoy themselves (they even make the point very clear in the acceptance letter).

concentrate on finishing the year strong and leave essays until next year (or at earliest the summer)

No, I just wanted the essay questions so I can decide where I can apply early. MIT or Stanford?
I think applying to MIT is better (I'm from CA and MIT allows supp materials), but I've never been there. I've been to Stanford, and I've even talked to a professor there. So I'm closer to Stanford. Perhaps the college with easier questions I will apply to...?

Btw, wasn't there a question regarding which department you are interested in?
