What kinds of scholarships/contests are out there that you can just send in the essay(s) you wrote for your college applications to get $$?????</p>

<p>Usually, the essay accompanies a scholarship application targeted at some group of people. Searching Fastweb or similar will find opportunities to apply for scholarships that are primarily essay driven, though some will be quite competitive if anyone can apply. Sometimes, the easiest pickings are local - check with your HS guidance office about any local scholarships they know about. Work related grants are also less competitive - check both student and parent employers to see if any scholarships are offered. I've seen students get awarded more money for their scholarship than they earned from the company from their part-time work.</p>
