I need help picking an essay topic, hence the title :-p. Anyway, I’ve got a lot of ideas.

  1. How my little sister is my hero bc of her courage and sense of self. when she was two her nose was bitten off by our gparent’s dog and now she has scars and it tore our family apart but she doesnt let that bother her. the only problem is that its very personal and sad, and it also happened a while ago.

<li>Can write about riding in the woods. I ride with an organization that foxhunts, without actually killing any foxes, and I help lead them through the woods and I often times have to go through alone with my horse. I could write something about that, im not sure what yet, but something to just emphasize my most important extracurricular.</li>
<li>I could do an essay about how a person has affected me, but instead of writing about a person i could write about my horse patrick. He was abused and I rescued him and had to rehabilitate him and make him sane again. Now he’s my favorite horse and basically my best friend. He’s taken my through the woods by myself and gotten me back out without spooking at anything which most horses would have. He’s taken me through horse shows successfully. and he’s done countless other things. THe risk with this is that he’s an animal not a person.</li>

I’ve got other ideas, these are just some of the ones I have that look good today. Any comments whatsoever would be helpful. thanks.

<p>What do you want to convey to the adcoms? Here's my reaction to the topic alone:</p>

<p>1) Some would say overdone, but if written well, would have quite an impact. It shows your appreciation for others and for life.
2) Also shows appreciation for life. But you have less room to air your philosophies since you're alone.
3) I don't think it would be a risk that he's an animal. It's an advantage, because few other people would do this well. Patrick shows all the qualities you admire in any living being, which shows your own character. Plus, you could emphasize that animals reside at the same level in your heart as people, because we are all God's creatures.</p>

<p>I think whatever topic you choose to write on will be fine, as long as you show yourself through it. Sorry if this doesn't help narrow the choices down :)</p>

<p>I like #1 and #2 best. They're all really creative and really good ideas, but I dunno if they would think you weren't following directions by writing about an animal</p>
